An irritating and sudden headache known as (TCH) is a medical emergency, very different from the most common headache disorders such as and stress headache. If you develop TCH, you should call 911 or go immediately to the nearest hospital. TCH is associated with a variety of causes ranging from benign to potentially fatal. An urgent assessment is needed in an emergency environment to quickly identify and treat any underlying condition. Diagnostics and Treatment of Head Pains When you arrive at the hospital, your medical team will want to confirm or rule out a potentially serious and secondary cause of TCH. The initial history and examination will focus on red flags that suggest specific secondary causes. A secondary TCH has an underlying cause, apart from the headache. For example, the stiffness of the neck or drowsiness may suggest an oxidized brain aneurysm or an infection; a eyelid may indicate a tear in the carotid artery (the main artery supplied by the brain); sudden seizures or weakness of the member may suggest clots in a blood vessel or bleeding in the brain (hemorrhagia). The absence of these signs and symptoms does not definitively rule out these causes, so it will probably be subjected to images of the brain and its blood vessels with computed tomography (CT) or MRI. If the image does not reveal a clear secondary cause, a lumbar puncture or a spinal puncture may be necessary. If a secondary cause is identified, the underlying problem will be addressed. For example, if your TCH was caused by a blood clot in an artery, it would be treated with medications that abuse clots or clot would be eliminated by a catheter-based procedure. Primary Thunder Head Pain and RCVSIf there is no obvious cause, TCH is considered to be "primary," or "idiopathic." Primary TCH usually affects young adults. It is commonly associated with physical triggers such as cough, exercise and sexual activity. Rarely, people can develop multiple and recurring TCHs within a few days. In such cases, the image shows invariably alternate areas of narrowing and dilation (appearance is described as "a sausage on a rope") of multiple cerebral arteries. This condition is called reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome, or RCVS. RCVS can also develop in patients with a single HCT. Approximately 30% to 50% of patients with RCVS continue to develop brain hemorrhage, strokes and brain inflammation. Therefore, if RCVS is diagnosed, it is likely to be admitted to the hospital for a few days of observation. Despite these possible complications, people with RCVS usually do well; the TCH current is usually reduced within days, and the arterial narrowing resolves itself within a few weeks. Head Pain Treatment and RCVSThere are no known preventive medications for primary TCH or RCVS. Bed rest is recommended, as exercise, anxiety and sexual activity may precipitate more TCHs. Also recommended are stool laxatives and softeners, as tension or bearing can trigger TCH. Extreme headache is usually settled in a few minutes, but moderate to severe headache may persist for several hours. Common painkillers such as acetaminophen (Tylenol) and ibuprofen (Advil) can help. Treatment with more potent medicines, such as morphine and other opioids, can be prescribed for long or very severe headache. Certain medicines should not be used to treat TCH. These include glucocorticoids, triptans and other anti-migration drugs, which induce the narrowing of the cerebral arteries and may worsen the situation. People with RCVS should also avoid certain medicines for several weeks. These include antidepressants that promote serotonin (RSS and SNRI), ecstasy, cannabis and sympathizer and amphetamine derivatives such as pseudoephedrine (a common ingredient in many cough and cold remedies, exercise stimulants and diet pills). Primary TCH can be repeated intermittently for several years. The repetition of an RCVS episode is extremely rare. Most people can resume routine physical activities and gradually increase the intensity of exercise two to four weeks after sudden headaches are detached. The extreme head pain of primary TCH and RCVS can evoke significant anxiety. But the long-term result is almost always benign. Related information: Related articles:Comments: Good article.
